3-star hotel in Bangkok's Pratunam wholesale market district

Location

Grand Watergate Hotel sits inside Pratunam, one of Bangkok's largest wholesale clothing markets. The hotel is a 7-minute walk to Pantip Plaza, a major electronic mall, and a 10-minute walk to Platinum Fashion Mall. Guests have access to flagship luxury brand stores and boutiques nearby, plus Ratchathevi BTS Skytrain Station is a 5-minute drive away.

Rooms

Each air-conditioned room includes a private balcony and a satellite TV. Rooms come with a refrigerator stocked with a minibar and an en suite bathroom with shower facilities. The hotel offers Superior Double or Twin Rooms and Mini Suites, though the Mini Suite layout has drawn guest criticism for misleading advertising.

Dining

The on-site restaurant serves a variety of international food options, including Thai and international cuisine. Breakfast is available at the hotel, and guests also have access to good restaurants around the hotel in the local area. A bar is located on the premises for drinks.

Services

A 24-hour front desk assists with luggage storage and tour arrangements. Safety deposit boxes are available at the front desk for guest use. Daily housekeeping, dry cleaning, ironing service, and laundry are offered, along with fax/photocopying for business needs.

Accessibility

Suvarnabhumi International Airport is a 1-hour drive from the hotel. Street parking is free for guests arriving by car. The hotel provides key card access, CCTV in common areas, smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers for guest security.

Spotlessly Clean Rooms

I was really impressed with how clean and spacious the room was during my stay. Having a mini-bar and complimentary water was a nice touch, making it convenient for a refreshing drink after a day of exploring. The cleanliness definitely enhanced my experience at the Grand Watergate Hotel.

Decent Breakfast Options

Though the hotel restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch, I enjoyed the meals provided. The breakfast buffet may not have been extensive, but it was adequate for starting my day. It's also great to have so many nearby eateries to explore later in the day.

Family-Friendly Stay

I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel staff upgraded our room for free after realizing I was traveling with my 5-year-old son. This thoughtful gesture made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable, emphasizing their commitment to family-friendly hospitality.
